Profhilo Injections in Bangkok: Price, Sessions and a Doctor's Advice

Profhilo Injections in Bangkok: Price, Sessions and a Doctor's Advice

Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid injectable that its maker, IBSA, describes as bio-remodelling: 2 ml containing 64 mg of hyaluronic acid, placed at 10 small points on the face, usually in 2 sessions about 4 weeks apart. At Velalux Clinic in Thonglor, Bangkok, the regular price of Profhilo is ฿27,000 per 2 ml syringe (October 2026), and a doctor assesses your skin first.

If your skin looks tired even after a good night's sleep, or make-up no longer sits the way it used to, this guide explains what Profhilo can and can't do.

The doctor's quick answers

  • How much? "At Velalux, one 2 ml syringe is ฿27,000 at the regular price. Most people need two sessions, so a first course comes to ฿54,000."
  • How many sessions? "Usually two sessions about 4 weeks apart. After that, I look at your skin and we plan maintenance, often about every 6 months."
  • How many months until you see results? "Some people notice their skin looks more hydrated within 1–2 weeks. Skin quality may keep improving over about 2–4 months from the first session. Results vary from person to person."

— Dr. Siwakorn Techataweewat, MD

What is Profhilo, and what isn't it?

Profhilo is a stabilised hyaluronic acid (HA) gel made by IBSA, a Swiss company, and produced in Italy. Each 2 ml syringe contains 32 mg of high and 32 mg of low molecular weight HA, held together by heat rather than the chemical cross-linker (BDDE) used in most fillers. It spreads under the skin to hydrate and support it.

Profhilo is not a volumising filler. It does not lift, add volume or change the shape of your face. In Thailand it is approved by the Thai FDA for use on the face and neck.

How much does Profhilo cost in Bangkok?

At Velalux Clinic, Profhilo is ฿27,000 per 2 ml syringe at the regular price, as of October 2026. Because most people have 2 sessions, a first course is 2 × ฿27,000 = ฿54,000. One box contains one 2 ml syringe, used in one session.

Until 31 October 2026, Profhilo is ฿23,000 per syringe (regular ฿27,000).

Why Profhilo prices differ, and how to check yours is genuine

When prices differ, it helps to ask what is included. At Velalux, each session uses a full 2 ml syringe, the sealed box is opened in front of you, and the doctor does the injections.

  • Ask how many ml will be used in your session.
  • Ask to see the sealed box before it is opened.
  • Check that a doctor is doing the injections.

Who is Profhilo for, and who is it not for?

Profhilo may suit people with early, mild loss of firmness, or skin that looks dehydrated, dull or crepey on the face or neck. It is about skin quality, not shape. People in their late 20s and older often ask about it, but the doctor decides based on your skin, not your age.

It may not be the right choice if your main concern is hollowness, deep folds or sagging that needs lifting. In that case, the doctor will usually talk you through other options.

A note from the doctor: "Profhilo improves skin quality; it doesn't lift or add volume. If what really bothers you is hollowness or deeper folds, I'd rather talk you through options that fit that better." — Dr. Siwakorn

How many Profhilo sessions do you need, and what happens on the day?

Most people have 2 Profhilo sessions about 4 weeks apart, using one 2 ml syringe each time. Each visit starts with the doctor checking your skin. Numbing cream is available if you want it, and the injections themselves usually take about 10–20 minutes.

The BAP injection points

Profhilo on the face uses the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique: 5 small points on each side, 10 in total. The gel then spreads evenly under the skin, so there is no need for many injections across the face.

Profhilo for the neck

The neck has its own set of 10 points. Some people treat the face and neck in separate sessions; the doctor will plan this with you.

If you miss the second session, don't worry. Just let us know, and the doctor will advise on the right time to continue.

When might you see Profhilo results, and how long do they last?

Some people notice their skin looks more hydrated within the first week or two. Skin quality may keep improving over about 2–4 months from the first session. Results commonly last about 6–12 months, and the doctor usually plans maintenance about every 6 months. Results vary from person to person.

How long is Profhilo downtime, and when should you book before an event?

Small bumps appear at the injection points and usually settle within 24 hours, occasionally up to 48 hours. Bruising, if it happens, may take up to about a week to fade, so the doctor may suggest booking at least 1–2 weeks before an important event. The doctor can plan both sessions around your calendar.

What are Profhilo side effects, and who should avoid it?

Common side effects are small bumps at the injection points, mild redness, tenderness and occasional bruising. These usually settle within a day or two. Serious reactions are rare, and a doctor's assessment and careful technique help keep the risk low.

  • For about 24 hours, avoid make-up, saunas and hard exercise.
  • Don't press or massage the injection points.
  • Talk to the doctor first, or avoid Profhilo, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a skin infection or inflammation in the area, or are allergic to hyaluronic acid.

How is Profhilo different from filler and other skin boosters?

Profhilo is a skin booster, not a filler: it improves hydration and skin quality rather than adding volume. Other skin boosters work differently, so the right choice depends on your skin. The doctor can explain which one fits what you want to change.

What it isOften chosen for
ProfhiloStabilised hyaluronic acid, high + low molecular weightSkin quality and hydration on the face and neck
Restylane Vital LightHyaluronic acid skin boosterHydration and fine skin texture
Rejuran HBPolynucleotides (PN) with hyaluronic acidSkin repair and texture
JuvelookPDLLA with hyaluronic acidGradual collagen support and texture

Sculptra is different again: it is a collagen stimulator used for gradual volume, not a skin booster. These treatments are not interchangeable, and the doctor will match the treatment to your skin.

Will I look "done"?

Profhilo spreads under the skin and does not change the shape of your face, so the aim is skin that looks fresher while your face still looks like you. Read more about why filler sometimes looks unnatural.

Frequently asked questions

Does Profhilo hurt?

Most people feel small pinches at the injection points. Numbing cream is available if you want it, and each session uses 10 small points.

What is the difference between Profhilo and Rejuran HB?

Profhilo is stabilised hyaluronic acid that hydrates and supports the skin. Rejuran HB contains polynucleotides (PN) with hyaluronic acid and is often chosen for skin repair. The doctor can advise which suits your skin, or whether to use both at different times.

What is the difference between Profhilo and Juvelook?

Profhilo works mainly on hydration and skin quality, while Juvelook contains PDLLA, which is designed to support collagen gradually. Read our Juvelook guide for more.

How many syringes are in one Profhilo box?

One box contains one pre-filled 2 ml syringe, which is used in one session.

How often should Profhilo be repeated?

After the first 2 sessions, the doctor usually plans maintenance about every 6 months, depending on your skin.

Can I go back to work the same day?

Yes, most people do. Small bumps at the injection points usually settle within 24 hours; avoid make-up for about 24 hours.

At the consultation, the doctor looks at your skin with you and, if Profhilo isn't the right fit, will tell you. Message us on LINE @velaluxclinic or call +66 99 625 5556, or see all skin boosters on our services page.
